Are there any handheld radios that can also be conveniently panel
mounted?
I know there was once a Delcom that could, but it does not seem to be
available in the USA.
Appreciate any info.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,
Not that I'm aware of. However, the Vertex Standard VXA-150 has a near
feature that may make it panel mountable. the LCD display screen in mounted
at a 45 degree angle on the top/front of the unit. It can be inverted so
you could mount the radio in a homemade tray in the panel and you would be
able to read the display from the end and slightly above the unit. You can
see details here:

You may also want to check out my handheld and panel mounted radio
comparisons.

In the long run, a panel mounted radio will give you much better ease of use
and low maintenance which may make it less expensive in the long run.
